First clean vent detail in Colchester

On first cleans, the vents above the glass can hold dust, grime and dark build-up. If they are skipped, dirt can keep running down after the window has already been cleaned.

Dan rinsed the top vent and frame detail properly as part of the first clean, giving the window a cleaner reset and making future maintenance cleans easier.

FAQs

Common questions

What areas do you cover?

Sorrell Window Cleaning covers Colchester, Stanway, Marks Tey, Tiptree, Kelvedon, Coggeshall, Braintree, Cressing, Silver End and many nearby Essex villages.

How do I get an accurate quote?

Send clear photos of the front and back of the property, plus any side access or awkward windows. Include your postcode and say whether you want a one-off clean or regular visits. For most window cleaning and gutter-clearing jobs, that is enough for Dan to give you a clear price without a long site visit.

Do I need to be home for window cleaning?

Usually not. If Dan can safely reach the windows and the gate is unlocked, the outside clean can be completed while you are out. Dan can message you when the job is finished.

Do I need to provide access?

Yes, Dan needs safe access to every part of the property you want cleaned. Back gates should be unlocked and the route to the windows should be clear enough to work safely. If access is shared, locked or unusual, explain it when asking for the quote.

How do I know when you are coming?

If you are already booked in for a clean tomorrow, Dan will text you the night before so you know he is coming and can make sure access is ready. If Dan fails to send that promised night-before text, the clean is free. This applies to both regular and one-off cleans. A job arranged on the same day cannot have a previous-night reminder.

How do I pay after the clean?

Once the clean is finished and you are happy, Dan sends a secure payment link. On compatible phones you can use a saved payment method such as Apple Pay, so there is no need to type in bank details or open a banking app. Bank transfer, cash and Direct Debit for regular cleaning are still available if preferred.

Are you insured?

Yes. Sorrell Window Cleaning is fully insured for the work Dan carries out. The cover is arranged through Simply Business and provides protection if Dan accidentally damages a customer's property while working, subject to the policy terms. Current insurance details can be provided when required.

Do window cleaners work in the rain?

Yes, normal rain is usually fine. Pure water cleaning removes the dirt and minerals that cause marks, so the glass can still dry clear. Heavy wind, lightning, icy access or weather that makes the job unsafe or lowers the quality are reasons to reschedule.

Do window cleaners bring their own water?

Yes. Dan brings his own purified water for window cleaning, so he does not need to use the customer's outside tap.

Do you clean window screens?

No. Sorrell Window Cleaning does not currently offer window-screen cleaning.

Do I need to be home for gutter clearing?

Usually no. As long as Dan can access the gutters and use a suitable power socket, the work can be completed while the customer is out.

Do you need access to an outside tap?

No outside tap is needed for gutter clearing. Dan does need access to electricity through an outside plug or an arranged inside plug, and he brings his own extension lead.
